Silver Crinoid Fossil Stud Earrings

Carry a piece of ancient coastline with these handcrafted silver crinoid fossil stud earrings, available in two unique designs. Each pair is made using fine silver clay and moulds taken from real St. Cuthbert’s bead fossils found by the maker on beaches near Holy Island (Lindisfarne). Once fired, the clay becomes solid .999 fine silver, preserving the natural markings of the original fossil.

Choose from delicate 5mm round studs, featuring a subtle central star imprint, or distinctive 6mm pentagonal studs, showcasing the fossil’s natural five-sided geometry.

St. Cuthbert’s beads, or Cuddy beads, are fossilised segments of ancient marine crinoids. Found around Holy Island for centuries, their star-shaped patterns have long been associated with local folklore and coastal heritage.

A beautiful little piece of natural history to wear every day.
