Silver star fossil and sea glass necklace, crinoid cuddy bead

Silver Cuddy Bead Star Fossil & Seafoam Sea Glass Cluster Necklace – Handmade in Fine Silver Clay

Carry the story of the sea with this beautifully handcrafted cluster necklace, featuring a silver Cuddy bead star fossil charm paired with a soft seafoam blue piece of genuine sea glass.

The fossil charm is created from high-quality silver clay, which captures the intricate star-shaped details of an authentic Cuddy bead fossil. Once torch-fired, the clay transforms into solid .999 fine silver, preserving the delicate patterns and textures of the actual fossil.

Balanced beside it, the tumbled seafoam sea glass adds a gentle pop of colour—its smooth, frosted finish shaped naturally by years in the ocean. Together, the two charms create a harmonious blend of texture and tone, celebrating both coastal geology and shoreline treasure.

Each necklace is handmade, making every piece a one-of-a-kind keepsake. Perfect for ocean lovers, fossil enthusiasts, or anyone drawn to jewellery with history and meaning.

What Are Cuddy Beads?

Cuddy beads, also known as St. Cuthbert’s beads, are small fossilised segments from ancient marine creatures called crinoids. Found by the maker on the beaches around Lindisfarne, these star-marked fossils have long been connected to local folklore. Historically worn as charms or threaded into necklaces, they were believed to offer protection and good luck.

Today, Cuddy beads are treasured for both their distinctive star-shaped patterns and their deep cultural roots in coastal heritage.

The silver fossil has a diameter of 7.5mm and the sea glass is 13mm high. The overall drop from the fine 18” sterling silver chain is 21mm.
